Presented by Center for Musical Excellence (CME) and Music in the Somerset Hills (MISH).

By popular demand, CME and MISH will come together again on Saturday, September 25, 2021 – at the same Bedminster estate – to present another program from the age of Mozart, this time focusing on vocal and choral music. The program will feature performances of favorite opera arias and duets, as well as a complete performance of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, conducted by Stephen Sands, with Min Kwon (piano) and the Somerset Hills Chorus. The Fantasy, composed in 1808, is a forerunner of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (premiered sixteen years later), with its plea for universal brotherhood and its “pre-echoes” of the Ode to Joy theme, which dominates the final movement.
